Diamond Reward Contest - The Final Draw

Kuala Lumpur, 13 December 2007: The lucky winner of a brand new Mercedes-Benz C 200 Kompressor, courtesy of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia (now known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) and Mitsubishi FUSO, was announced today during the final event of the Diamond Reward Contest 2007.

All hopefuls who attended the lucky draw held at The Saujana Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, were owners of new Mitsubishi FUSO trucks, irrespective of models, registered from 1 January 2007 to 30 November 2007. In total, there were more than 1100 vehicles who qualified for the draw.

“The response from last year’s debut contest was so successful that we were excited to organise it for the second time this year. Participation this year was just as overwhelming and the great response has contributed significantly to the Mitsubishi FUSO brand,” said Peter T Honegg, CEO, DaimlerChrysler Malaysia (now known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia).

Commenting on the sales results for Mitsubishi FUSO this year, Honegg said, “While the total overall market figures for commercial vehicles shrank by 7.2% year-to-date, Mitsubishi FUSO has experienced growth with overall sales figure to 10.3% year-to-date October, thus representing an increase in total market share, in the Commercial Vehicle Maximum Permissible Laden Weight 4.0 ton and above category, to 8.6% compared to 7.4% (year 2005). With such encouraging sales results, we expect to end the year on a high note.” “In year 2007, we have expanded MITSUBISHI FUSO service network to 33 service dealers to provide better after sales service to our customer” Honegg added.

The new FP Prime Mover launched on September 2007 has completed the line up of MITSUBISHI FUSO models, from 4.5 ton Canter to 45 ton Heavy Duty Truck. By next year, FUSO plan to introduce another new model to further enhance the product variety.

Besides the grand prize winner, 19 other winners won body fabrication and service and parts vouchers for Mitsubishi FUSO trucks worth up to RM40,000.00.

Gracing the lucky draw event were Peter Honegg, President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia (now known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) and Tohru Kamata, General Manager, MITSUBISHI FUSO TRUCK & BUS CORPORATION of Singapore Representative Office. Also present to witness the event were representatives from M&C Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd., AmBan k Group and Adlan YP Cheong & Leong.
