The Commercial Vehicle Segment of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia (now known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) further expands its brand presence in the local market with the latest introduction of the new generation heavy duty truck, Mitsubishi FUSO FP517 prime mover on 18th of July 2007 at Hotel Saujana Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam. Around 250 guests attended this launch event.

Mr. Peter Honegg, President & CEO of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia Sdn Bhd (now known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) and Mr. Atsushi Sakai, Director – Head of Market Management South East Asia, Sales & Service International, MITSUBISHI FUSO Truck & Bus Corporation also attended this event and gave speeches. A product presentation which describes the key features and functions of FP 517 prime mover was presented by Mr. Tohru Kamata, the Representative of MITUSIBHSI FUSO Truck & Bus Corporation Regional Office.

After the product presentation, all the guests and media were invited to the hotel entrance to witness the official launch of FP517 Prime Mover. Mr. Peter Honegg, Mr. Atsushi Sakai and Mr. Kiyomitsu Tani (Vice President, MITSUBISHI FUSO, DaimlerChrysler Malaysia - now known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) pressed the launch pad together to unveil FP517 prime mover. This was followed by the Lion Dance to “bless” to the success of this new model.

Guests and media showed their interest in viewing the 2 units FP517 prime movers on display. Two more units were provided for the test drive. Media was later on invited to attend press conference. Representative speakers were Mr.Peter Honegg, Mr. Atsushi Sakai, Mr. Kiyomitsu Tani, Mr. Tohru Kamata and Mr. Christopher Brandt. The guests were attended by the sumptuous buffet lunch and they were being entertained by professional live band till the end of the launch event.
